What You’ll Do
We specialize in advanced fiber optic solutions, offering cutting-edge components and systems for telecommunications, sensing, biomedical and industrial applications.
Work in a mixed Production and R&D environment which will entail tasks such as:
- Creating fiber optic components, such as multicore fiber fanouts, combiners, couplers
- Reading work instructions, schematics, and drawings
- Preparing and splicing optical fiber
- Micro-alignment of fibers and optical assemblies using specialized equipment
- Testing fiber optic assemblies using specialized equipment, such as lasers, detectors and spectrometers
- Working in a clean-bench environment with contamination control and laser safety protocols
- Digitally logging process details
Skills We’re Looking For
- Patience & Focus: Precision work can take time, requiring engagement, focus and attention to details
- Adaptability: You are flexible and can adjust quickly when processes or priorities shift
- Attention to Detail: You catch what others miss
- Team Player: You ask smart questions, share ideas, help and respect peers and work towards the success of the team
- Manual Dexterity & Fine Motor Skills: Steady hands and good hand-eye coordination for working with small, sometimes delicate, components
- Basic Computer Literacy: Basics of using computer applications and data entry are required; Additional computer skills will serve you well in this increasingly automated environment.
- Precision Measurement Knowledge: Understanding measurement principles, tolerances, and unit conversions are a plus
- Other Relevant Skills are a Bonus: Any prior experience with optical fibers, such as fusion splicing and polishing, laser systems, interferometry, or precision electronics will be a strong asset.
