<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Chiral Photonics is proud to be part of the LUMIRing project- an innovative initiative based at ISCTE University Institute of Lisbon focused on deploying a multi-core fiber (MCF) test bed within Lisbon Metro’s Yellow Line. This project aims to test and develop weakly coupled MCF transmission under real-world urban conditions, contributing to the advancement of global multicore fiber optics technology and communications infrastructure. The exceptionally long effective range—up to 728 km of 4-core MCF—sets a new benchmark for scalable fiber testing.</p>

<strong>What You’ll Do</strong>

Work in a mixed Production and R&amp;D environment which will entail tasks such as:
<ul>
 	<li>Creating fiber optic components, such as multicore fiber fanouts, combiners, couplers</li>
 	<li>Reading work instructions, schematics, and drawings</li>
 	<li>Preparing and splicing optical fiber</li>
 	<li>Micro-alignment of fibers and optical assemblies using specialized equipment</li>
 	<li>Testing fiber optic assemblies using specialized equipment, such as lasers, detectors and spectrometers</li>
 	<li>Working in a clean-bench environment with contamination control and laser safety protocols</li>
 	<li>Digitally logging process details</li>
</ul>

 	<li><strong>Other Relevant Skills are a Bonus:</strong> Any prior experience with optical fibers, such as fusion splicing and polishing, laser systems, interferometry, or precision electronics will be a strong asset</li>
